Hi All,

I'm trying to install and deploy Audit Portlet and Audit Hooks onto Liferay EE. My configuration is made by:

Liferay Enterprise Edition 5.2.6 SP2
Oracle 11g
Audit Portlet and Audit hooks checked out from svn://svn.liferay.com/repos/public/plugins/incubation/

The portlet and related hooks seem to be installed correctly. When events fire off (e.g. login, logout, etc.) I get stuck on null pointer exceptions. I found in Liferay EE source code some references to the Audit objects in spring files which don't match the beans definitions in the corresponding spring file inside the portlet. I read on the forum the this portlet will not be available until the 5.3 release. Is there enyone who knows if this is true also for the EE? Thanks.

Yes... The EE feeds off the CE but includes more bug fixes and patches. Other than that, they are identical.

Where in Liferay 6 can i find the Audit trail / audit portlet?
How can I make use of this feature? RC1 or RC2?

Hi Renee,

you can use any version of Liferay 6: RC1, RC 2, or GA.

Different versions may require different version of WAR ...

I'm using Liferay 6 GA (CE).

Can anyone confirm that the audit trail is only working in EE?

I brought Jonas's book and following his instruction to install the audit hook, audit portlet and Document Library Record hook.

After I install them and found that they are both unavailable when I tried to access them in the control panel.

Liferay: 6.0.3 with tomcat bundle
OS: Ubuntu 10.04

May I know which WAR version should I use and can download if I am planning to use 6.0.4 or 6.0.5?

Or this feature is only available to EE?

It would be better to use latest version, like 6.0.5 GA.

Liferay 6 EE should be ready shortly.

I have tried 6.0.3 and 6.0.4 already.

Are you suggesting the 6.0.5 will work with portlet I downloaded from your web site or you already has a new version in your site?

Looks like the audit-portlet was removed from the SVN since revision 58668 (last seen in revision 58288).
Hopefully it can be reverted soon.

Out of curiosity, how did this happen? It seems odd this portlet was removed since Audit-hooks require this portlet, and cannot even deploy without it!

Jonas, is there any timeframe when the audit-portlets will be reverted back to the liferay svn?

I actually require this component to provide detailed feedback on Liferay audit capabilities.

I tried deploying the audit-portlet from previous revisions, but it does not even compile

Audit plugin is a EE only feature and will be available with Liferay Portal 6 EE SP1.

I don't know all of the details, but I don't think the Audit Portlet was finished for 5.2 SP4.

You can check Trunk and see if you can backport the Audit Portlet and make it work for 5.2.
