Hi Guys,

Check portal.properties, here you will be able to set whether or not you have default public/private pages. The setting will something look like this for user public.

layout.user.public.layouts.enabled=true
layout.user.public.layouts.modifiable=true
layout.user.public.layouts.auto.create=true

Hi,

that's possible editing 2 xml files.

1. portlet-ext.xml: Add a "security-role-ref" with a custom name to the portlet you want to limit
1        <security-role-ref>
2            <role-name>community-admin</role-name>
3        </security-role-ref>

2. liferay-portlet-ext: Add a mapping from your custom name (= community-admin) to a real role (= Community Administrator)
1    <role-mapper>
2       <role-name>community-admin</role-name>
3       <role-link>Community Administrator</role-link>
4    </role-mapper>

You might need to adjust the security-role-ref by removing other references...

kind regards
Tobias

I'm still trying to fill out where in the name of Baalzebub the portal.properities file is located. I cannot find one anywhere. And yet it seems that all kinds of interesting goodies are in it.

Hi Lisa,

Check out page 127 of the Administrator's Guide for an explanation on portal.properties, portal-ext.properties, and so forth.

Are you using 5.2 or 5.1?

Hi Craig,

I tried the stuff you told. It's not working. Is it that we just have to change the portal-ext.properties file?I created two pages-private and public, and exported them in the form of lar seperately. I put them in deply folder of Liferay-home. Then I modified the portal-ext by modifying the following properties:

default.guest.private.layouts.lar=${liferay.home}/deploy/comm-private.lar
default.guest.public.layouts.lar=${liferay.home}/deploy/comm-public.lar

What else is required to make the links for private and public pages to the above respective pages?

Advice.

Thanks in advance.emoticon

Vaibhav

This thread is very old and hasn't be written for some time. It's even been moved to "Liferay Legacy".

Also, you question seems different from the subject of this thread.
I think you'll get better response if you create a new thread.
