End of Life

Customers purchasing a Liferay Commerce Subscription will benefit from a full enterprise-grade End of Life ("EOL") policy (also referred to as End of Service Life ("EOSL") policy).

End of Life for Liferay Commerce

Premium Support Phase

The Premium Support Phase for a Major or Minor Version of Liferay Commerce shall be four (4) years from that First Ship Date. During the Premium Support Phase, customers with an active Liferay Commerce Subscription will be provided:

  • full support, in accordance with the applicable Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day coverage;
  • access to the Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge base;
  • access to all updates and upgrades to the Liferay Commerce; and
  • security alerts and critical updates.
Limited Support Phase

The Limited Support Phase commences upon the end of the Premium Support Phase and ends three (3) years thereafter. During the Limited Support Phase, customers with an active Liferay Commerce Subscription will be provided:

  • support, in accordance with the applicable Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day coverage;
  • access to the Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge base;
  • access to all upgrades of the Liferay Commerce; and
  • security alerts and critical updates.
In addition, the following guidelines apply:
  • Liferay Support will direct customers to existing workarounds and customer knowledge base.
  • Liferay Support may direct customers to upgrade to a more current version/release of the product to receive appropriate fixes.

End of Life for Liferay Commerce Software Add-On

Premium Support Phase

Every Major Version of a Liferay Commerce Connectors will have at least one Minor Version that is supported during its Premium Support Phase of its specified Compatible Liferay Commerce Version.

For all other Minor Versions, the Premium Support Phase shall begin on the applicable First Ship Date and end on the release of the next applicable version.

During the Premium Support Phase, customers with an active Liferay Commerce Subscription will be provided:

  • full support, in accordance with the applicable Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day coverage;
  • access to the Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge base;
  • access to all updates and upgrades to the Liferay Commerce Connectors developed against the Compatible Liferay Commerce Version; and
  • security alerts and critical updates.
Limited Support Phase

The Limited Support Phase commences upon the end of the Premium Support Phase and ends with the end of the Limited Support Phase of the Liferay Commerce Connectors’ specified Compatible Liferay Commerce Version. During the Limited Support Phase, customers with an active Liferay Commerce Subscription will be provided:

  • support, in accordance with the applicable Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day coverage;
  • access to the Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge base;
  • access to all upgrades of the Liferay Commerce Connectors; and
  • security alerts and critical updates.

In addition, the following guidelines apply:

  • Liferay Support will direct customers to existing workarounds and customer knowledge base.
  • Liferay Support may direct customers to upgrade to a more current version/release of the product to receive appropriate fixes.

Definitions

Liferay Commerce refers to the the components of the core Liferay Commerce product.

Liferay Commerce Software Add-On refers to add-on software components to Liferay Commerce.

Compatible Liferay Commerce Version means a version of Liferay Commerce Software Add-On that is compatible with a specific Liferay Commerce version as specified on the downloads page.

First Ship Date means the date on which Liferay first makes available, for license or sale, a Major Version or Minor Version of Liferay Commerce.

End of Life means the date on which Liferay ceases to make available Support and Software Maintenance for a Major Version or Minor Version of Liferay Commerce.

Major Version means a release of Liferay software incorporating major changes in architecture, APIs (as part of the deprecation process), or internal schema, as well as major changes in functionality, new features, and bug fixes. A new Major Version is identified by a version number where the number to the left of the first decimal in the version number is incremented (example: 1.x.x to 2.x.x).

Minor Version means a release of Liferay software incorporating minor changes in architecture, APIs (as part of the deprecation process), or internal schema, as well as some changes in functionality, new features, and bug fixes. A new Minor Version is identified by a version number where the number to the right of the first decimal in the version number is incremented (example: 1.0.x to 1.1.x).

Maintenance Versions means a release of Liferay software that is not a Major Version or Minor Version. A Maintenance Version release generally bundles the most recently available bug fixes and security and stability improvements. A new Maintenance Version is identified by a version number where the number to the right of the second decimal in the version number is incremented (example: 1.0.0 to 1.0.1), or a Major Version or Minor Version packaged with a service pack, or both.
