End of Life Policy

Subscribers purchasing Liferay software will benefit from a full enterprise-grade End of Life ("EOL") policy (also referred to as End of Service Life ("EOSL") policy) in accordance with their subscription level.

Premium Support Phase

The Premium Support Phase for a Software Product shall be the period of time from its First Ship Date up until the end of the Premium Support Phase. The Premium Support Phase shall begin at First Ship Date of the Major Version and end two (2) years after First Ship Date of the Major Version. During the Premium Support Phase, subscribers will be provided:

  • Full support including hot fixes, in accordance with a subscriber's respective Support Services Level, with up to 24x7, 365 day service levels;
  • full support of integration and search issues including hot fixes;
  • access to Liferay's Customer Portal and Knowledge Base;
  • access to all updates and upgrades of the Liferay Enterprise Search adapters developed against the compatible Liferay Digital Enterprise version; and
  • security alerts and critical patch updates.

Limited Support Phase

After the LES Premium Support Phase, LES enters into the Limited Support Phase until (i) two (2) years after the Premium Support Phase of Liferay Enterprise Search, or (ii) the completion of the Premium Support phase for the latest compatible Liferay Digital Enterprise version (see Enterprise Search Compatibility Matrix), whichever is earlier. During the LES Limited Support Phase, subscribers will be provided:

  • Support, in accordance with a subscriber's respective subscription level, with up to 24x7, 365 day service levels;
  • support for integration issues on LES's adapters;
  • access to Liferay's Customer Portal and Knowledge Base;
  • access to all updates and upgrades of the Liferay Enterprise Search adapters developed against the compatible Liferay Digital Enterprise version; and
  • security alerts and critical patch updates.

In addition, the following guidelines apply:

  • Liferay Support will direct customers to existing fix packs, workarounds, and consolidated service packs available in Liferay's Customer Portal.
  • Liferay Support may direct customers to upgrade to a more current version/release of the Software Product in line with the service life of the Digital Enterprise version which the customer is using.

Sustained Support Phase

After the LES Limited Support Phase, LES enters into the Sustained Support Phase after the completion of the Limited Support phase for the latest compatible Liferay Digital Enterprise version (see Enterprise Search Compatibility Matrix). During the LES Sustained Support Phase, subscribers will be provided:

  • Support, in accordance with a subscriber's respective subscription level, with up to 24x7, 365 day service levels;
  • support for integration issues on LES's adapters;
  • access to Liferay's Customer Portal and Knowledge Base; and
  • access to all updates and upgrades of the Liferay Enterprise Search adapters developed against the compatible Liferay Digital Enterprise version

Subscribers on Sustained Support will not be provided with:

  • new updates, fixes, security alerts, data fixes, and critical patch updates;
  • new tax, legal, and regulatory updates;
  • new upgrade scripts; and
  • certification with new third-party products/versions.

In addition, the following guidelines apply:

  • Liferay Support will direct customers to existing fix packs, workarounds, and consolidated service packs available in Liferay's Customer Portal.
  • Liferay Support may direct customers to upgrade to a more current version/release of the Software Product in line with the service life of the Digital Enterprise version which the customer is using.

Definitions

Software Product means any version of the Liferay Digital Experience Platform

End of Life Date means the date on which Liferay ceases to provide Software Maintenance for a Software Product of a Major Version or Minor Version.

First Ship Date means the date on which Liferay first makes available, for download or sale, a Major Version or Minor Version.

Major Version means generally commercially released major new releases, modifications or enhancements to the same Software Product as designated by a change in the number to the left of the first decimal in the version number.

Minor Version means generally commercially released code corrections, patches, updates and minor version releases of the same Software Product as designated by a change in the number to the right of the first decimal in the version number.
