SAN FRANCISCO, CA - (October 10, 2012) - Liferay, Inc., provider of the leading open source portal platform for the enterprise, honored several members of its international ecosystem of partners, developers, and users on the closing day of its annual North America Symposium. The honorees were selected based on their contributions to Liferay's product and global footprint.
The system integration partners recognized at the North America Symposium included Platinum Partner, Xtivia, who won "North America Partner of the Year" for their high quality of work delivered to clients and overall outstanding performance selling Liferay enterprise subscription services. Another Platinum Partner, Triton Services, received the "North America Partner Contribution of the Year" for their notable contributions to and active participation in Liferay's open source community.
"Liferay's open source roots allow us to hear the valuable input and guidance of users outside our organization, and this has been one of the reasons we've been so successful as a product," said James Falkner, Liferay's Community Manager. "We want to appropriately honor the groups and individuals who have shown dedication to our platform and who have helped to make it better."
The Liferay ecosystem counts over 65,000 open source community members and over 120 system integration partners around the world. In the past 12 months, Liferay counted the creation of 7 new user groups around the world for a total of 29, with numbers growing thanks to a number of community leadership and engagement programs launched in the past year. This is in addition to the many informal meet ups conducted around Liferay technology.
Liferay's business ecosystem also continues to see strong growth, with a surge in inquiries about partnership with Liferay from leading system integrators around the world. To date, Liferay has strategic services partners in 43 countries.
"Our ecosystem has been an integral part of our success," said Glenn Saler, Liferay's North American Alliance Manager. "Liferay fans and teams ranging from official partners to Java hobbyists have had a great impact on how our product is evolving. These awards are just a small part of our appreciation for them."
Other award recipients include CIGNEX Datamatics, Savoir-faire Linux, and Permeance Technologies, as well as partners and individuals in Europe and Asia who will be honored at Liferay's other symposiums in Frankfurt, Madrid, Rome, and Tokyo in the coming months of this year. Key individual contributors are also honored.
