AI Hub: AI Without the Technical Barriers

Deploy agents that learn, make decisions, and improve your digital experiences using Liferay AI Hub.

Launch Secure and Efficient AI Agents

Set up powerful and integrated AI agents.

Deploy AI agents embedded within the wider Liferay Platform that can perform many different tasks.
  • Use a visual interface to design AI agent logic. With a drag-and-drop, low-code interface, you can compose the sequence of actions within an agent, making it accessible for business users, developers, and administrators.
  • Start leveraging AI agents immediately with templates. Liferay Marketplace has templates to address common use cases like content translations, customer chatbots, and sentiment analysis.
  • Streamline AI agent creation with a library of prebuilt nodes. Use prebuilt nodes for LLM interactions, data retrieval, custom code, and API integrations to configure AI agents more quickly.

Enable AI agents to jump into action when you need them.

Define flexible automation triggers that kickstart agents manually, on a schedule, via API calls, or in response to events in Liferay DXP. Automation use cases include:
  • Accelerating content operations. When a new blog or asset is published, the AI agent can act as a virtual assistant to complete tasks such as auto-tagging the content for better visibility in search results.
  • Advancing support tickets to the right person. When a support ticket is submitted, the AI agent can analyze the content, retrieve customer information, and send the ticket to the right team, freeing staff from repetitive tasks that slow response times.
  • Automatically segmenting users for more effective personalization. AI agents can assign the right segments to users as they're being created or even create new segments if needed to group similar users.

Monitor the success of your AI Agents.

With a centralized dashboard to monitor usage, track performance, and control costs, you can ensure visibility and control over your AI agents while making more data-driven decisions about optimization and resource allocation.

The dashboard gives you insight into:

  • Automation overview. The number of AI agents and AI automations you have running.
  • Agent performance. Average response and task completion time, along with a comparison of this metric over time.
  • Resource utilization. How much memory and disk usage AI agents are consuming so you can identify usage improvements.

Connect to the compliant LLM of your choice.

Large language models (LLMs) are the foundation of modern AI agents, enabling advanced reasoning, planning, and decision-making capabilities. Liferay DXP allows you to connect to and configure different large language model systems easily.

To provide the contextual data the LLMs need securely, Model Context Protocols (MCPs) provide a standard for AI models to request the information they need from various data sources.

Liferay DXP not only allows you to integrate with popular MCPs from Microsoft or GitLab but also offers our own MCP to turn the Liferay ecosystem into an AI-ready platform.

Implement AI with necessary enterprise-grade security and governance.

Although an incredibly powerful tool, AI opens the door for cyberattacks and digital vulnerabilities. Without the right measures in place, cybercriminals can manipulate AI tools, exploit vulnerabilities, or even tamper with AI agents.

Liferay DXP helps protect your users and their sensitive data, even from AI systems. With strict data access policies and fine-grained permissioning, AI systems can only access information at the same level as the user requesting the information. How Liferay AI Hub Works with Liferay DXP

AI Hub + CMS

Configure AI agents to help accelerate content management, like creating assets, translating content, or updating web pages.

AI Hub + Commerce

Use AI agents to update product information, manage orders, or personalize customer experiences, ultimately improving customer satisfaction.

AI Hub + Low-Code

AI agents can help advance workflow steps or trigger new workflows. Agents can also create, update, or delete Object entries and definitions.

AI Hub + MCP

To establish Liferay as the central source of truth for these AI agents, use Liferay's Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect any compliant LLM securely.

What Are AI Agents?

AI agents are software systems that use artificial intelligence (AI) to execute tasks autonomously on behalf of users. Using NLP and LLMs, the AI agent interprets the prompt or trigger to plan, allocate, and perform the task.

How do AI Agents work?

As the foundation of AI agents, LLMs give the agent the ability to understand the task. The agent also has memory to maintain context, learn from experiences, and improve based on past interactions. Organizations can also fine tune AI agents using specific data to optimize their performance for content creation and other enterprise needs. When combined with planning modules and tools to extend their capabilities, AI agents can perform complex actions, make decisions independently, and learn and adapt accordingly.

What's the difference between AI agents, AI assistants, and bots?

AI agents have the highest level of autonomy to operate and make decisions independently when compared to other AI technologies. For example, AI agents can complement human agents by functioning as virtual assistants that handle more complex tasks than traditional bots and support the customer service side by automating tickets and improving call handling times. In comparison, AI assistants can only respond to requests or prompts to complete simple tasks, but ultimately the user must make the decision. Bots are even more limited, only able to follow basic pre-defined rules.
