Our Latest Developments

Our latest enhancements focus on boosting efficiency and providing actionable insights. By streamlining the content workflow and embedding analytics directly into the CMS, we're empowering teams with the real-time visibility needed to improve content health and audience engagement.

Recent Highlights

Streamlined Publishing with Automated Conflict Resolution

We’ve simplified the publication process with new conflict resolution logic. This logic automatically resolves most asset change overlaps, leaving only critical cases for users to review.

Embedded Analytics in CMS

We are enhancing our personalization and analytics capabilities by embedding in-context dashboards directly within our platform.
  • The CMS Overview Dashboard provides in-context visibility into content health, helping teams efficiently manage and maintain high-quality digital experiences. Users can easily monitor issues such as broken links, expired content, and outdated assets.
  • The Content Performance Insights Dashboard enables users to easily monitor user engagement, providing clear visibility into how audiences interact with content—including views, impressions, and other engagement metrics. By making these insights readily accessible within the CMS, teams can quickly understand what’s resonating with users and take immediate action to optimize experiences and boost engagement.

Greater Flexibility for Dynamic Content Selection with Blueprints

Now, you can use the Blueprint Collection Provider to dynamically display a wider variety of assets, like structured web content and Objects, and map specific fields within them.

You can now also configure whether or not a blueprint collection provider should be published immediately when creating a new blueprint via the Configuration tab or through the action menu in the blueprints table view.

What's Next: Crafting Next-Generation Digital Experiences

Our goal is to deliver a unified and intelligent experience layer that meets the needs of both administrators and end users. We're increasing our investment in making search more scalable and intuitive, empowering site managers with refined tools, and enabling personalized, data-driven experiences across touchpoints.

Create Powerful Content Selections and Use Them Everywhere

No more choosing between Collections, Blueprints, and Asset Publisher. Teams can define a search query once and reuse it everywhere (Collections, Search pages, Headless, Fragments), replacing Asset Publisher and today’s split experiences.

Users will benefit from fewer handoffs and templates. Additionally they’ll have access to richer, more relevant results including granular filters (type/subtype, dates, workflow, language, tags, object/custom fields) and flexible ordering.

AI-Powered SEO Audits and Recommendations

AI will be added to the set of tools that Liferay provides to facilitate SEO enhancement. Beyond basic checks, users will gain more granular controls and AI-powered insights that automatically audit content, detect technical SEO issues, and suggest concrete actions to improve search rankings. The system will highlight opportunities such as fixing metadata, improving internal linking, optimizing page load speed, and ensuring content follows best practices. These AI-driven audits will help teams quickly understand where their sites fall short, prioritize fixes, and boost visibility in search engines, all directly within the CMS.

Publications for the New Headless CMS

The Publications framework will evolve to support the creation and management of Publications within the new Headless CMS. A simplified architecture will extend core capabilities (such as grouping, previewing, scheduling, reverting, auditing,  and collaborating) to content created as objects. This ensures teams using the CMS can easily coordinate the publishing of large campaigns without needing to track and manage each piece of content individually.

Enhancing Accessibility in Liferay

We’re dedicated to making Liferay an accessible solution for everyone. We’ve already strengthened our VPAT reporting and are publishing improved Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs) for Liferay DXP, Commerce, and our new Headless CMS, with hundreds of fixes delivered across Page Builder, Web Content, and Admin experiences.

Now, we’re raising the standard even further by adding:

  •  Deep WCAG 2.2 alignment across Forms, Commerce, and Navigation.
  • Accessible design tokens built into Clay to make inclusive design the default.
  • Rich text editor accessibility support through shortcuts and a spellcheck plugin to help content creators.

Liferay aims to empower organizations to deliver fully inclusive digital experiences that scale with confidence.

Design Libraries

For businesses looking to deliver exceptional digital experiences, our upcoming Design Library will transform how you manage and maintain your brand's visual identity across sites. This new capability provides a central library where you can easily create, share, and apply consistent design elements—including custom styling, layout components, and templates—ensuring a cohesive look and feel for your customers, no matter where they interact with your brand. This means less effort in managing individual site designs and more focus on building impactful, unified digital journeys that resonate with your audience.

Real-Time Segmentation

Real-time segmentation allows the platform to continuously update how visitors, customers, or accounts are grouped based on their most recent behaviors, attributes, or actions. Unlike batch segments, these segments adjust automatically as new data flows in, ensuring that teams always work with the most current view of their audience. In a B2B setting, an account that shows high activity on a demo page can be flagged immediately, enabling sales to prioritize outreach while interest is fresh.

(AI) Enhanced Semantic Search Capabilities & Configuration

We are doubling down on the semantic search journey we began in 2023.

We’re evolving semantic search into a RAG-driven experience that delivers answers, not just links. Summaries will appear on search result pages, within documents, and for large file uploads, helping users get context instantly.

This approach grounds LLM responses in enterprise content, improving accuracy while reducing effort.

The outcome: faster answers, stronger self-service, and higher content value extraction across DXP.
