Liferay Named a 2026® Gartner Voice of the Customer ‘Customers’ Choice’ for Digital Experience Platforms
• August, 2026
At Liferay, our work centers on the people who log into our platform every day—the teams running customer portals, intranets, and public-facing websites on top of it. So when customer feedback rolls in, we pay close attention. We think the newly published 2026 Gartner® Voice of the Customer for Digital Experience Platforms report is one of the clearest windows we get into that feedback, and this year it placed Liferay in the “Customers’ Choice” category—a recognition only two of the seven vendors covered in the report received.
In our opinion, Gartner Peer Insights™ reviews form the backbone of the Voice of the Customer report, which distills them into a resource for people evaluating DXP vendors. Rather than replacing the analyst research from Gartner, it sits alongside it, giving buyers a look at how real customers describe their day-to-day experience with a platform. Vendors are plotted according to two scores—“User Interest and Adoption” on one axis and “Overall Experience” on the other—and those landing in the upper-right quadrant to receive the “Customers’ Choice” label.
How Liferay Scored This Year
Liferay Digital Experience Platform closed out the review period with an overall rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars across 64 reviews by July 2026, the top overall score among every vendor in the 2026 report. Alongside that, 91% of reviewers said they'd recommend Liferay DXP to others. This is the second time Liferay has landed in the upper-right quadrant of this report, and we see it as a direct reflection of the relationships our customers have built with our team—something we don't take for granted.
What Goes Into These Numbers
Voice of the Customer includes vendors with products aligned to the market that have 20 or more eligible published reviews (and 15 or more ratings for “Capabilities” and “Support/Delivery”) during the 18-month consideration period ending 31 May 2026. Reviews from vendor partners or companies with less than $50 million in revenue are excluded.
Liferay's individual category scores from the report break down as follows:
- Product Capabilities: 4.4/5.0 based on 64 reviews
- Sales Experience: 4.4/5.0 based on 59 reviews
- Deployment Experience: 4.5/5.0 based on 64 reviews
- Support Experience: 4.4/5.0 based on 63 reviews
We think these scores speak to the work our teams put into both the product roadmap and the support experience overall.
In Our Customers' Words
“We’re grateful to our customers for sharing their valuable feedback through Gartner Peer Insights,” said Bryan Cheung, Chief Marketing Officer at Liferay. “We feel our recognition as a ‘Customers’ Choice’ vendor is a testament to our innovative product roadmap and commitment to customer success.”
Reports like this one give us a useful outside check on where the platform is genuinely working well for people, and where there's still room to grow. That kind of feedback loop matters to us, and it shapes how we keep building out our platform alongside the organizations that depend on it.
A customer from a healthcare and biotech organization praised Liferay DXP for “the extensibility of Liferay to allow us to hook into so many other platforms.” Elsewhere, the reviewer noted that “Liferay account reps and architects have been very helpful in steering us clear of any future hurdles.”
